Oliver and I got sober together. A friendship developed that lasted well over a decade. He was my
friend, my confidant, my brother. Through him I learned that love truly has no color. He was just
as much my brother as all my beautiful black brothers in 'the hood.' I loved him and I
will miss him for always. Patricia Thomas

I remember Oliver and Joan singing at RCP events in the 70's. While I was just a young girl ,
I remember thinking that they were famous (since they were so talented and from somewhere else) and
how special it was to have "guest" performers.
Peaceful thoughts and prayers for surviving friends and family.

I met Oliver in Seattle in 1975 and I was immediately smitten by his grounded sense of integrity. As
a fellow polical activist I was inspired by his calm determination to be part of creating a more
just and beautiful world. May his dreams and visions prevail.

Oliver, you were always a great guy.The memories, here, attest to that. Full of life, funny, and
deep. Although we lost touch over the years, clearly, your life has had a significant impact on
many that knew you. My memories go way back to Bethesda days, dancing on back porches in mid-day
sunshine, you always laughing. My own son, Oliver, has recently moved to NY--near where you worked
and I went to grad school. My best to your family. Your life is an
inspiration
