This is a shock for me. He was good buddy and we had some crazy times together. I miss him dearly.
Condolences and love to his family.

I was treadmilling this morning and my mind wandered back to the 1964-1965 school year; my freshman
year at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. Ollie's name came to mind, for some reason, and I
Googled him to hopefully discover what had become of him. He was my roommate for that first semester
of our mutual under graduate lives!
It was quite a discovery to find what a seemingly rewarding, eventful, and varied life he lived.
This "discovery" actually didn't surprise me as Ollie (who I haven't seen or
spoken to since 1966) was one of the most memorable characters I've ever known.
I would love to communicate with anyone willing to share their memories of Ollie with me and help me
to catch up on his life after I was a small part of it.
P.S.- He even gave me my nickname...Yumper! A long story best told after a few adult beverages.

I still have his lunch pail from his coalmining days with a .22 bullet hole in it. That was done to
discourage his organising activities. Didn't phase him.
O.V. was one of a kind. I had the pleasure of knowing him in NYC and played in his band, which at
that time was known as 'Cold Shot'. You can imagine how political C&W went over at
venues like 8BC and the expressions of confusion under all those mohawks.
We shared many vodka tepids. Don't know what he thought of me, but I hold him in high regard.
Sorry for the loss to all his family.

I've looked for Ollie ever since we were in the Air force together in Havre Radar Station,
Havre, MT. We were both around 19-20 years old and full of juice - no one fuller that Ollie. We used
to play word games - you know, see who could use the biggest word in a sentence. With Ollie's
Latin from high school, he was brutal in picking words apart and figuring out what they meant.
I called his Father once, trying to find Ollie. He gave me a spiel and made like he disowned him. I
guess I sort of gave up... til today. I googled him just for fun and was shocked to hear that he
died.
G'bye Ollie. Hope it's not vituperative where you are.
